Import Process Stuck

    I imported a 1000KB file via Tools > Import > Movable Type and TypePad. Even after more than a day has passed, it still shows ‘Processing…’ I cannot cancel it because there is no cancel button. I would like to import again, so please reset it.

    Import Process Stuck

    Your Movable Type/TypePad import is stuck because large files can hit server timeouts or memory limits.
    Here’s the concise fix:

    • No cancel button exists in the importer.
    • If on WordPress.com → Contact support to reset the stuck import.
    • If self‑hosted →
      1. Delete any partially imported posts/pages/comments.
      2. If needed, clear import flags via database (developer help may be required).
      3. Increase PHP limits: execution time (~900s) and memory (256M+).
      4. Split the 1000KB file into smaller chunks and import separately.
    • Always back up your site before retrying.

    @panda1106, we have reset the importer for you so you should be able to try the import again.
