  I have a domain name, but have never used it. Can I import a domain name into the WordPress site?

  I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

  Hi there, yes we have two ways you can use a domain you already own with a site here at WordPress.com:

  Domain Connection allows you to keep the domain registered with your current domain registrar and direct it to your WordPress.com site: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/connect-existing-domain/

  A transfer would allow you to manage both your site and domain from the same place: https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/incoming-domain-transfer/

  Both will require a paid plan, any paid plan: https://wordpress.com/pricing/
