Import Smileys from Yahoo 360
-
I am working on importing my old Yahoo 360 blog and starting up here on WordPress. I finally worked around the 15MB file limit problem, so things are sarting to show up. I’m finding that the smileys did not import, though, and appear in the HTML as just
<img>There’s not even a link to a filename there. I used a lot of smileys during the three years I blogged on there, and now I have a bunch of random broken images in my blog. Anyone know how to get those back? If there’s a copyright issue, can I at least find a quick way to delete them all?
Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Thanks. I haven’t actually tried inviting anyone yet — still working on setting it up.
When I view the source code, yes, that’s what appears. (A small square appears in the blog.) I was able to just right-click and save to get the pictures from Yahoo, but I have almost 500 blog entries to go through. Just wondered if there was an easier way.
I suppose I could open up the .txt file and do a find/replace to get rid of them all. Any other options?

I had never messed with Yahoo 360, but it appears from some of what I’ve seen that some of their coding may not be standard HTML, and in those cases, things will not transfer over correctly.
Other than identifying the different smileys (and downloading them from Yahoo) and then doing a search and replace in the export file, I can’t thing of a way.
WordPress uses ascii characters that are converted into smileys as explained in this FAQ: http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/06/04/what-smilies-can-i-use/ .

I had been wondering what WordPress used. Thanks for the tip!
And thanks for the info. I appreciate your help.

FYI. I immigrated from yahoo360 about the 6th of June and the few smileys I’d used show up here exactly as they did at yahoo. http://delayed2sleep.wordpress.com
