import successfull but no post on blog

    I imported posts from a self hosted wordpress blog to my new wordpress.com blog. I got an email saying that the import was successfull but I have no posts on my blog.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Let’s see if we can sort this out for you. I have a few questions to see if I can figure out what may be going wrong.

    First of all, to confirm, you are trying to import your content into vinitalyclub.wordpress.com?

    I see one image in your media library. Was this an imported image, or did you upload it when you created the WordPress.com site?

    Could you post a link to your existing WordPress.org blog so I can see the content there?

    How large is your .xml export file from your self-hosted site?

    Have you tried your import more than once?

    thanks for the support.

    I tried twice this afternoon and nothing happen. I tried again right now and the import seems working fine.

    The only “strange” things, is that during the import process I never get to the page where wordpress ask if you want to download and import file attachement. The last page with full contente I get is the one where you assing posts to authors, after that page I land on a page with no content (just “Importa Worpdress” on top, and that’s it).

    I can upload the post images manually, not a problem at all, but I was expecting to get to that page during the import process.

    To answer your questions:

    – I confirm I was trying to import contante into vinitalyclub.wordpress.com
    – I uploaded the image you can see in the media library when I created the new blog.
    – you can check the existing self-hosted blog at ww.vinitalyclub.com/blog
    – the .xml file is 310kb
    – I tried to import the file twice this afternoon, and I tried again right now.

    a quick update. The posts have been imported on the new blog, but I get 2 confirmation email, one saying “import successfull” at 00:14, and one saying “Import failed” at 00:15.

    Yes, we sometimes have been sending out erroneous “import failed” emails. That’s a known issue.

    I’m glad to hear things are working for now. Please let me know if you run into any other issues with it.
