Import taking forever

  Dear sir/ madam,
  I have been importing posts from xanga. The first few batches worked totally fine. The last batch has been “processing” for more than a week ago but the message said it shouldn’t take more than 24 hours. Would you please check for me?

  I have reset your importer for you. You can try your import again at any time.

  For further instructions on how to do a Xanga import, please see:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/import/import-from-xanga/

  Note that you must open the .zip export folder you get from Xanga and import ALL of the files included in the .zip folder individually.

  Hi Jackiedana,
  Thank you so much for your assistance. Unfortunately I am having the same problem… Is there a chance that one xml file has some problems with it? The zip file I downloaded has 12 xml files with it and only no.7 is not going through.

  I apologize for any troubles you’re having with the importer. I’ve reset it for you again.

  Two things that sometimes help is switching from the Xanga-specific importer to the generic WordPress one (they both accept .xml files) or trying a different browser for the import.

  Give those suggestions a try and if you still can’t get all your files imported, let me know.
