import tool not working

Hello! I am using the tool to import a WordPress blog (xml file) and it was supposed to contact me in 24h but it hasn’t. Can you help me?

Sorry about that! It looks like the importer just got a bit stuck. I reset your blog’s importer so you can try that import again. Please let me know if I can do anything more to help with that. :)

One more issue… The import was considered successful by WordPress this time, but the images are not there.
Anything I can do about that? I have a lot of images and they are essential to my blog. Thanks in advance. -

Can you send me a link to the old blog that you imported the posts from? We may be able to help get those images imported if the old blog is still available online.

I’m sorry to take so long to answer!
The old blog is not working anymore. I have a backup in Dropbox, and all the images are in the “uploads” folder, inside the “wp-content” folder.

Hi there,
I’m not sure we’ll be able to automatically import those images from Dropbox — usually the importer looks for the images at the original site and imports them that way. However, I’m checking with our team to see if there’s anything we can do to help! I’ll let you know what I find out. :)

I really hope there’s a way to use this backup…
I was having trouble with my blog for a while, so when I was able to make it work again for a short while I used the “export” tool and the did the dropbox backup just in case. I thought the export tool was all I needed actually! :(
