Import Tumblr, Temporarily Pause Custom Domain Mapping
-
Hi
I am trying to import a Tumblr blog that has custom domain mapping and have temporarily disabled it based on recommendations here https://wordpress.com/support/import/import-from-tumblr/ but the Import tool is still noting that a ustom domain is in use. Does this take some time to adjust or is there something further I should be doing in order to import from Tumblr?

For additional context, at this point I’m hoping to make a backup of my site which is Tumblr-based and import all posts to WordPress while continuing in the near-future to keep the domain pointed to Tumblr.
The site I am hoping to import posts from is taylorswiftstyle.com (taylorswiftstyle.tumblr.com)

Hello there,
Many thanks for reaching out.
The change in domain should be instant.
Are you able to confirm if clearing the browser cache clears that message regarding a custom domain please?
Please see this helpful guide on how to clear the browser cache: https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache
Many thanks in advance.

Hi,
Confirming I cleared the cache and removed then re-added the importer tool and the problem still persists.
Do I need to do anything on my domain registry end such as changing DNS?

Hello there,
Many thanks for that confirmation.
I’ve reset the site importer for good measure – are you able to attempt a new import from Tumblr please.
Many thanks in advance.
