  Hi, I am trying to import my website for the first time. I have exported my site as a .zip file which is 471MB, however I keep getting an error msg
  413 status code for ‘POST /sites/212217742/imports/new’

  WP.com: Yes
  Correct account: Yes

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to moderators and staff)

  Where has the site originally come from exactly?

  The reason why I ask is because on the free plan, it’s only possible to import content as per: https://en.support.wordpress.com/import/

  This information will help to determine next steps.

  Hi Thanks for getting back to me
  it is a site I have hosted on another service provider (www.webhost.ie)
  The website I am looking import into WordPress is (www.rushsc.ie)

  I followed the instructions and export the website into a .csv file but when try import I get an error.

  Let’s give that one more try. I have reset the importing tool on rushsclub.wordpress.com

  Still getting the same error, see below. I will transfer domain and upgrade plan, once I have the basic webpage working.

  Make sure you are using a valid WordPress export file in XML or ZIP format. Still need help?

  file size is 471MB and I can confirm its .zip file type

  Hi there,

  That is a pretty large export file for a WordPress site, can I ask you to tell us a bit more about how you created that?

  I’ve taken a look at rushsc.ie and it does not appear to be a WordPress site. Is your site build using one of the platforms mentioned here? Or is it a hand-coded HTML site? https://wordpress.com/support/import/#non-word-press-site

  Hi I followed the instructions Provided by wordpress for non WordPress sites .

  Instructions said to export the site from my current providers tools which generated the .zip file .

  The site was built by me using html and some php . (With any website builder tools)

  Hi there,

  Is the file that was generated an .XML file? I would open up the .zip file and make sure that is what was generated because that is the file type needed to import and export WordPress sites.

  If it is a site that was created using HTML, you’ll have to copy and paste the content in order to migrate your site to WordPress.com. Our support page provides instructions on how migrate content in the most efficient way possible:
