Import website and display images
-
I have a website that I have been supporting for years 140 page over 1000 pictures. I have been experimenting with WordPress and Google Sites to see which is the easiest to work with both have merits and disadvantages.
My old website which I am putting all together on WordPress;

http://motiveandchange.pbworks.comI have uploaded all my media (pictures mostly) and have created new pages either pasting HTML or the pages directly from web browser. Some pictures don’t display some display but are being loaded from my old website. Some of edited the properties and remove the url but for the picture file name and wordpress has correctly got those images from media others it has not.
It is a long tedious and mistake prone task inserting new images and it would be easier to do it the way that I was trying that is by editing the url. As I say the prefered way does not work consistently.
Please recomend a solution for me?

Hi. If you have installed WordPress on your hosting provider, you are in the wrong forum. Please ask your question at http://wordpress.org/support
You are currently in a forum for blogs hosted by WordPress.COM and our answers will not apply to your situation. Thanks and I hope you find a solution to your problem soon.
If you are asking about a site hosted by WordPress.com, we need the URL please.

You mean that importing with attachments does not work?

Import does not have what I want.
My website is a collection of HTML pages generated with free HTML editor a with hyper-links pictures and anchors. The disadvantage is that I don’t have the nice themes with pull down menus and side bars that I can get with a blog like wordpress.com
I have a directory with all the html and pictures. Or they can be browsed conventionally with a web browser say IE.
