  I tried to import a wordpress backup from an own server. obviously this failed. now an few moths later i opened the import menu at wordpress.com again and it still shows ‘Wir bearbeiten gerade Deinen Import und werden Dir eine E-Mail schicken, wenn alles fertig ist. Wenn Du in den nächsten 24 Stunden nichts von uns hörst, kontaktiere bitte den Support und wir werden das Problem lösen.’

  How can I get back the functionality and what do i have to to to move a website from an own wp installation to wp.com?

  If you are still waiting on the importer to finish, a WordPress.com staff member will probably have to reset it. For that add “modlook” to the tags section in this forum thread.
