Import (WXR) to wordpress.com only partially imports

  I’m trying to import my old self-hosted blog (http://cookingwithrichard.com) to a free wordpress.com blog to take the headache out of managing and securing the self-hosted one.

  The WXR file is 10576317 bytes (~ 11 MB) and has 2667 posts in it.

  However I tried to import this, and first time only 49 ports were imported. Second and third times, 55 posts were imported. This seems to be a long way off the total. It is not clear where or why it stops importing, and there is no error message.

  I can prove the original WXR file if that would help.
