I tried doing an import from XML to my blog 3sjoers.wordpress.com, but it seems like the process is stalling. could you check?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I have reset your importer for you. You can try your import again at any time.
If you continue to have trouble with this, please let me know what kind of export file you have, where your blog was before, and how large a file it is.

Hello, thank you it helped. But the problem now is I am importing norwegian language text and all our unique characters are turned into symbols, only the english characters remain, I guess there is not much to do about this as there are no options when doing the import?

Hmm, that’s no good. It looks like an encoding error.
Let’s see if we can figure out where the issue originated. Where is your import coming from? Which platform? Was it a WordPress website or something else? Did you convert a file to .xml or was that how the export was created?
-
The import comes from joomla, and the import file is generated by a plugin that exports posts to wp format

Thanks for that info. I’m going to need to look into this further for you. I appreciate your patience!

It looks like there was an encoding issue in your export file. I think we have resolved the issue by resaving the file under a different encoding standard. I can process the import for you, but first I need to check to see if you had previous content on your blog before attempting your import. If there wasn’t any, I can empty your blog of all content and redo the import. If there was previous content, you’ll need to delete all of the imported content and then let me know so I can redo the import for you.
Please let me know if you wish for me to empty your site and restart the import.

hello, please try to redo the import, the previous content does not matter. I am merely doing this to test the export-import function, if it works i will do it again later on my real blog. feel free to empty and restart it.

I’ve processed the import for you. I’ve also sent the import file to you at your email address associated with WordPress.com as an email attachment so you can use it in the future.
-
hello! wow, that looks great! I did not receive the email with the attachement yet (also checked spam folders but empty..). Did you modify the import file? so that in fact, now it is possible for me to import it myself without those errors showing? thanks so much, very grateful

I sent the email to the address you have listed with WordPress.com. You might double-check that you’re looking in the right account.
The file was modified slightly in that it was saved as UTF-8 to fix the encoding issue.
