Imported posts are duplicating

I imported all my posts from gumucio.blogspot.com to http://alfonsogumucio.wordpress.com/ and when I tried to update everything was imported again, although WP clearly says: “If you attempt to re-import a blog, duplicate posts and comments will be skipped.” So what happened? What can I do to get rid of duplicates/ Do I have to delete everything and start again? But then, every time I update I will get duplicates?

I’m not sure what you mean. Are you continuing to post to Blogspot and importing it to WordPress.com? If so, staff have said it would be best if you set the WP.com blog as private. Duplicating material downgrades BOTH sources in terms of SEO.

Yes, I imported the news posts from Blogspot because I read that duplicate posts would be “skipped”… However, it doesn’t happen. I have not decided yet if I will keep posting in Blogspot or completely migrate to WP, I’m trying their features to see which is better. What is SEO?

SEO is something I’m definitely qualified to comment on: WordPress.com has the BEST SEO of any blogging platform, bar none (assuming you’re using tags and categories appropriately). I teach blogging and I’ve seen a WP.com blog bump the united nations off the #1 spot on Google within four hours of the blog starting up.
