Imported posts are not showing up on my blog

  I am trying to import a category of posts from one wordpress blog to another. I have received the email saying the import was successful but when I go to the blog there’s nothing there.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi Stacy,

  Which site were you importing into, and from, and what’s the title of a post that should have been imported? Which category were you importing?

  I am importing from offaithandfamily.wordpress.com and I was trying to import the recipes. The first time I tried the recipe posts imported fine but the photos in the post did not. I tried again and the second time around I couldn’t get it to import anything. I eventually gave up and restored the ones without the photos but it means having to redo all of those photos…

  Stacy,

  The importer is smart enough to not reimport the same posts twice. If you delete the recipe posts from the blog (and remove them from the Trash), they will import again.

  When importing, can you make sure the “Import media and attachment” checkbox is checked. It’ll appear after uploading the import file.

  ok, I deleted the posts and re-imported them. There’s still no pictures. You mentioned that when importing I should make sure the “Import media and attachment” checkbox is checked but when I import I don’t see that option anywhere.

  I tried using the same import on a test blog, which did bring in all of the pictures.

  One thing that is odd is on your new site, the images are being hotlinked from fullybalanced.com, which is why they’re appearing broken:

  

  Although, the images themselves are being added to your media library.

  If it is alright with you, can I re-import everything for you so I can check along the way for any issues? It appears that all of the posts on the site currently were part of the import, so it would be okay for me to delete all of the posts for the import?

  Hmmm, when I do it it gives me the option to chose authors but not to import attachments.

  Can you look over everything now?

  It looks like all of the images imported and attached to the right pictures for me. The most recent pictures, as mentioned, were being hotlinked from http://fullybalanced.com and were deleted off of that site.

  Since the originals don’t exist, they couldn’t be imported into your site. Older posts that weren’t hotlinking from the other site do have their images attached, as expected.

  For the more recent images, you’ll need to manually update with new images.

  Thank you so much – it’s perfect now! I can re-upload the recent pics. That’s so much better than having to redo them all! Thanks again!
