Imported self hosted blog to WordPress.com and Markdown isn't rendering
-
I just imported my self-hosted blog to WordPress.com. My posts for that blog were written with Markdown. The import seemed to go well, but when I view the blog at WordPress.com the Markdown isn’t rendered — you can see the Markdown formatting.
I did enable Markdown under Settings > Writing. I’m wondering if there is a way around this problem, or if I’m stuck with Markdown in my published posts.
Thanks!

Hi @scottnesbitt, can you link us to a post that did not format properly? We’ll take a look.

@supernovia, here’s an example:

Every post is like that.

@supernovia, I did a little experiment: changed the status of a post to draft in the post editor (in wp-admin), then republished it. That forced the Markdown to render properly in the published post.
However, this doesn’t work when I try doing the same thing using Quick Edit in the posts list for the blog. Not sure why that’s not working, though.

Thanks @scottnesbitt . Nice article, by the way. It would seem I’ve startled your site into compliance just by checking its settings from my end. I am seeing proper display of the markdown now, and I did not when I initially clicked that link.
Can you confirm it shows up for you now?

@supernovia, looks like it’s a “many but not all” kind of situation. The links posts are definitely them main “not all” offenders, but it looks like the majority of the rest of the posts are complying.
Guess I’ll just have to do spot checks.

@scottnesbitt do you have any articles left that aren’t displaying markdown? I found a means to fix them if you do. Just link one or two here.
