Imported site from Squarespace.

  Hello,
  I just imported my site from Squarespace using a .xml file, I want to see if WordPress is the site for me going forward as I have only ever used this as part of a college assignment. My question is, now that my site has been imported using the .xml file, if I were to delete my Squarespace account, would all the imported content be deleted permanently from both Squarespace and WordPress?

  Hi!
  I’d have to study this more but I’d be careful deleting the Squarespace site! (My answer at this moment is “likely yes!”) Your images on the WordPress site LINK BACK to the Squarespace site.

  for example: right click the image of the dog and open it in a new window. Now look at the URL of the image. It’s:

  https://i0.wp.com/static1.squarespace.com/static/525d7cdfe4b038a108bdec22/52696059e4b082c85fe812b9/56d5c7b6a3360c9f700eb46c/1456851243148//img.jpg?zoom=2

  Note the first part of all that gobblyDeGook code, it’s:
  `https://i0.wp.com/static1.squarespace.com’
  Which tell us this image is coming from somewhere owned by Squarespace.com and I’ll assume that all other images are coming from that server.

  I’d back up or download all your pictures from squarespace.com before you do anything else!

  Thank you for the help, that’s what I was thinking, I just didn’t want it to be true haha I have close to 100 posts on my Squarespace site and a really poor internet connection where I am. I should have made the switch earlier. A long few days ahead I suppose :)
