Import/Export Duplicate Blog

  • Unknown's avatar

I duplicated an entire blog via export / import. I shared the link of a duplicated blog with my class but I had two students find the initial blog that I duplicated from. How did this happen and how do I prevent it from happening?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

What was the original blog and what was the one which you provided to your students? I noticed that you have a couple of very similarly named blogs which seem to coincide with course numbers. Is it possible that your students could have duplicated the pattern based off of another course which you teach?

No. I don’t think that would be possible. The blogs in question are avt180fall2014 (the original) and artt116fall2014 (the duplicate).

They are used at different schools and there is some different content I added. I only have students the artt116 link, but it found two folks on the avt180 blog. I have no idea how they got there. My only guess is that there was a link or something from the duplication process. Any ideas?

I used the find tool on my duplicate blog to search pages for “avt180” thinking I may have accidentally included something but I couldn’t find anything.

Id really appreciate any suggestions. Thanks again!

It looks like there is actually something left in your artt116 site.

If you do a search using the omnisearch tool (in your Dashboard on the left hand side) for avt180:

    https://artt116fall2014.wordpress.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=omnisearch&s=avt180

    You’ll get this page:

    http://artt116fall2014.wordpress.com/course-schedule/

It turns out that the Week 1 days are links which point back to your other blog. That is likely how the students ended up on the other blog.
