    Hi Frank,

You have a couple of choices. It sounds like you may have just set up a self-hosted WordPress.org site with a company called webhotel using your domain frankhemmingsen.com, is that correct?

If so, that’s totally fine. You can create an export of all of your posts, pages, comments, etc using our export tool and then import it on your new site using these help articles:

    Exporting from WordPress.com: http://en.support.wordpress.com/export/
    Importing to WordPress.org: http://codex.wordpress.org/Importing_Content#WordPress

Once you do the import, the tool on your new site will pull any media from your WordPress.com site over and place it in your new site. It can take a bit of time, but everything gets moved automatically!

Keep in mind that there is another option. You can always point your domain over towards us. If you purchase our domain mapping option you can have your domain take over for frankhemmingsen.wordpress.com, so that visitors won’t ever see the .wordpress.com part. They’d only see frankhemmingsen.com.

If you’re interested in that, there are two things you would need to do: You’ll need to log in to your Dashboard and then go to Store >> My Domains and click on Map a Domain I own and purchase the domain mapping. It’s currently $13 per year.

Once that’s done, go to your domain registrar and change your domain’s nameservers to point towards us. Those nameservers would need to be:

    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM

    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM

    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

Give it up to 24 hours or so and your site should work!

Let me know if you have any questions.
