Add topic to favorites
Hey folks. I have been using Blogger for my blog, but have seen the light and want to move over to WordPress.

However, the import function is not working because I host my Blogger blog on my own server. Anyone know how I can get around this?

I realllllllllly don’t want to add each post to wordpress manually. (I have over 620.)

Why not download and install the WordPress software from http://www.wordpress.org onto your server. Instructions for importing are here http://codex.wordpress.org/Importing_Content

They have their own websites, why not? Is there a problem with that? Half the post here the responses are your in the wrong place go to WordPress.org without any attempt at an answer.

Because this is the forum for wordpress.COM. We should not be answering those questions here and staff has said so.

You’ve been here 2 months – some of us have been here a lot longer and are doing what we can to help wordpress.COM users. And we are working with staff to get the .ORG users outta here.

If you want to help wordpress.ORG users, please head over to their forum.

Well it’s kind of silly because basically you’re saying, “I’m not going to answer your question, even if I know the correct answer, because you’re to dumb to know the difference between .org and .com.”

@particlesofspirit-Excuse me for saying that the software used here on WordPress.COM is different than the software used by WordPress.ORG. That’s why we send ORG users over to ORG to get their questions answered, not because we think someone is “dumb” but because the correct answer for COM may not be the correct answer for ORG.

Perhaps read or reread the thread posted at the top of this forum to refresh your memory?

It is important to maintain separate forums for WordPess.com and WordPress.org. If we begin answering all questions regarding WordPress.org, these forums may become flooded with such inquiries. Pretty soon there is too much noise for WordPress.com users to get the help they need here. This is the complete opposite of what we want in a strong support network.

If you’re talking about the original question, the answer is that the export function isn’t working at the moment.
