    i am trying to import existing wordpress content from an older site to a new one through blue host (still through wordpress) and it says missing/invalid WXR version number
    PLEASE HELP

    Hi there,

    What is the address of the site you’re exporting from, and what is the address of the site you’re importing to?

    If you’re importing to a site with Bluehost, that site is using the open source WordPress software. While it’s still “WordPress”, it’s a completely different version of WordPress, and we have no control over the importer on that site.

    One thing, though: if the export downloaded as a .zip folder, make sure you first unzip that before importing – you need to import the individual .xml files inside the folder.

    If you’re exporting FROM a WordPress.com site we can at least check the file for you to make sure it doesn’t contain any errors, but if the site you’re exporting from is also using the self-hosted version of WordPress, then the best option is to ask for help in the forums for that version instead:
