Importing A Blog

I attempted to import my blog from Tumblr. I connected, authorized and have left the process to ‘import’ for the last few hours. Now I come back, the PC was left on and unmonitored so no process would interrupt, it was just constantly refreshing and had made no progress to import any post or draft of mine. I understand there may be heavy traffic at the moment but I have left this now for maybe 1-2 hours (roughly) and am wondering whether the process is worth it at all. I attempted restarting, but as I clicked ‘import this blog’ it said I can only have one import running at a time, and to allow the current one to finish, although I now have zero running processes. It’s stuck in the void of believing it’s still importing, but it’s not, and I can’t do anything to restart or readd it — now what?!

Once it’s reset, please bare in mind the following as advised by staff:
Please be patient and don’t try cancelling the process yourself – we’re experiencing a high volume of imports from Tumblr at the moment causing a backlog of pending imports in our system. The imports are being run in the order they are submitted.
If the new import doesn’t complete within 24 hours, please let us know.

First of all, thank you very much! This reply was extremely informative and without it, I’d still probably be scratching my head. I figured it was something to do with the high volume of people coming across — and I’m glad it’s nothing to do with anything I did on my end. I hope everybody on WordPress is as kind and welcoming as you. B)

I’ve reset the Tumblr importer for your site so you can try again.
If it seems to take long, please be patient and don’t try cancelling the process yourself – we’re experiencing a high volume of imports from Tumblr at the moment causing a backlog of pending imports in our system. The imports are being run in the order they are submitted.
If the new import doesn’t complete within 24 hours, please let us know.
