Importing a blog to wordpress from squarespace

Add topic to favorites
I downloaded my squarespace content into a “xml” file.
I understood from wordpress I had to opt for the ‘WordPress’ option under imports as it does not cater for squarespace specifically.
The file, which was downloaded in zip format, uploads successfully but then cannot import information as it says xml/wzn? number is not recognised.

Any suggestions?
