Importing a custom theme built site from wordpress.org to wordpress.com

  I purchased a magazine pro genesis theme from studiopress and started building it on wordpress.org. I have tried to transfer the website from wordpress.org to wordpress.com via export/import and it is not importing to wordpress.com properly.

  Hey there! Thanks for your video. It was very helpful.

  If you are moving from .org to .com, you will have to choose a new WordPress.com theme. Outside themes cannot be uploaded to WordPress.com sites. We have over 280 free and premium themes to choose from. I can certainly help you find one you like, if you need a hand.

  Regarding the rest of the transfer: It’s difficult to tell from the video if your content transferred or not. Can you confirm/deny this? Let me know if you posts/pages/media from your old self-hosted site properly imported into WordPress.com.
