Importing a xml file

I have a drupal site that had one content type. I exported the content type into a xml file. I want to move the content to a wordpress.com site. When I tried to import the xml into wordpress I’m getting a wrong file extension error?

    I found this on wordpress.com..
Importing Content from Another WordPress Blog

To import the content of another WordPress blog into your current site, go to My Site → Settings and select the Import tab. For the import to work, you’ll need a valid .xml file. Note that you can also import the content of a self-hosted WordPress blog.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi,

Sometimes we’ll see that if the file is zipped. That said, I don’t think we have direct support for importing Drupal files. Are you able to convert it into one of these formats?

If you can, export to that format, then import. If that still doesn’t help, get in touch and we’ll help you figure this out. Cheers!
