importing an existing website

  Hi, I’m the site administrator for the Horsham Symphony Orchestra based in the UK. Our site is currently hosted as a Google site, but the tiny amount of space they give you means we have now outgrown this. my question is, is it possible to import an existing website in its entirety to WordPress. Also, do we need to transfer the domain to you in order for you to host it?

  Hi there,

  Is your site on Blogger or Google Sites? If it’s on Blogger it’s quite simple to export your content and import it here. You can follow these instructions to do that:

  https://transferto.wordpress.com/blogger/

  Google sites it doesn’t seem has an export option like this, so it might be more tricky moving over your content from there. There isn’t anything we specifically support, though, so you might need to manually copy-paste your content over. You can see this guide:

  Both of those also include instructions to connect your domain here. Shortly, you cannot transfer your domain to us, but you can map it to your site here using the domain mapping upgrade included in all our plans.
