Importing another blog taking time

  Dear WordPress. I’m trying to import another wordpress blog into my current blog but I’m getting a message: ‘Processing your file. Please wait a few moments.’ for over 10 hours. It’s a small file that I tried to upload, so I’m wondering why it is taking so long. Do I need to restart the upload? How would I do that?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  I have added the “modlook” tag to get the staff’s assistance. Please wait for a staff member to check the problem and reset the importer.

  Yes I followed that procedure. The only mistake I may have done was that I uploaded the “zip” file rather than extract the xml file and then upload that. But I’m not able to stop the import to start again, if that indeed is a problem.

  I’m still getting the same message: “‘Processing your file. Please wait a few moments.’” after 24 hours. Please can someone show me how to stop the importing process; and help me to do it correctly?

  It’s now been 48 hours and I’m still getting the message: “Processing your file. Please wait a few moments.” This is in the import blog page.

  Hi there,

  Please note that repeatedly replying to yourself as you did here only has the effect of making it take longer for us to answer you, as each new reply by you moves your thread back to the bottom of our queue. Once a thread has been tagged for staff, please be patient while waiting for a reply and don’t try to bump your thread to get a faster reply, as it has exactly the opposite effect.

  I have reset the importer on your site so you can try starting the import again. Please make sure to upload the .xml file, and not the .zip, as that is indeed the reason why the importer got stuck in this case.

  Hi Kokkieh,

  I’m so sorry. My intention was not to draw attention to my query or to show impatience, but to provide updates of the issue.

  But thank you so much for your help. Your resetting of the importing process allowed me to import the correct xml file, and the process took less than 2 minutes!
