importing another wordpress site

I’m trying to import another wordpress.org blog. I have the xml file and when I go to upload it goes through the upload process and says that uploading will take time. It has been sitting for hours! There is no progress bar so I’m not sure if it’s even working. Suggestions?

What is the size of the XML file, please?
Is the site you have the XML export file from still online?
If yes, what is the URL?Sometimes the importer gets stuck. If the file is large you may have to import Posts, Pages, etc. in separate files. Or if the file is very large Staff may have to do the import.

So long story short. I have a .com domain and I’ve been hosting through a friend. One of the sites was hacked and he had to wipe everything. I downloaded the XML file before everything wiped.
He set everything back up for me and I tried to upload the file to that space but I got a fatal error – there wasn’t enough space. He said he wasn’t sure what the issue was.
So I thought I’d try to see if I could get it to work on wordpress.com.
I’ll admit I’m pretty lost when it comes to this stuff so be patient with me. lol
The file size is 10.6MB.
The wordpress.org site was wiped and reset. I can log in but when I upload there isn’t enough space. The url is http://www.gorunwithme.com
