Importing Blog

If I export my blog using the Export tool and make changes to my posts (I need to change a reference link hard coded in many, many posts) and then use the Import tool to re-import the content, will this screw up my blog? For example, would the stats for each post remain? Or would it all get wiped out and start over?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Stats always get wiped, they get wiped when you change something and they get wiped when you don’t do anything.

Stats are linked to your blog, not to your posts.

No, there are stats linked to each post:
    dashboard > posts > “Post … Author … Categories … Tags… Stats … Date”
Click on the stats icon of any post and you will see the stats associated with just that post.

Sorry I don’t know if exporting, the reimporting a blog would wipe out the stats.

I imported my real blog into my private test blog, and the stats certainly did get deleted. But I haven’t tried re-importing it to my real blog. (By now the 2 blogs are quite different, so I won’t be experimenting with that!)

Erhm, well what I ment was that the stats are bound to the blog and that when you move the posts to another blog the stats get wiped.

Yes, and re-importing would mean the same urls would be applied. So perhaps the stats would remain intact. Someone should just ask support.

Sending a mail to them, I’m curious. ^^

Sorry, but we don’t currently offer migration of stats data.”
