How do I import posts without sending email notifications?

  I want to import archived posts from another blog without triggering email notice to my subscribers

  Email notifications are only sent when new posts are published, so you should be able to import without a concern.

  This suggestion does not work. However, it does work to set privacy to no access. I did that & imported the archives. No subscribers were notified of the import. Then I reset the privacy to open access.

  Can you clarify; importing posts should not, in any case, send email notifications?
