Importing blog from WordPress.com to WordPress.org
-
Hi,
I’d like to move my blog from WordPress.com (here’s my current blog) to wordpress.org (here’s my new blog). I followed the procedure of exporting my wordpress.com blog (from Dashboard / Tools) to WordPress.org through the xml file, but the posts and pages just don’t appear. The only thing that has been correctly imported is the media library. How can I sort it out? Thanks a lot
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Emanuela,
Unfortunately, support staff at WordPress.com do not have access to your self-hosted site’s files, so I don’t have the ability to provide direct support, but in visiting your site, it appears that your posts have migrated over.
If you are still having troubles, it is not a bad idea to create a new export file here on WordPress.com again, and trying to import from the newly generated XML.
The importer should not bring in any duplicate content, but will skip it and grab anything that is different or missing from an earlier import.
Hope that helps. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Hi Jerry,
thanks a lot for your help. In the end I managed to migrate over. I realised that the problem was in the importing: I created separate importing XMLs files (one for posts, one for pages and one for comments) and in the end it worked.
Thanks again!
