Importing content from WordPress.com to WordPress.org

I have previously attempted to move my files from holleymaher.wordpress.com to holleymaher.com/blog and only some of the images’ urls change to match my new site (they are still reading as from holleymaher.wordpress.com) A couple of support threads said to try reuploading my exported xml file many times until all images were added correctly. My question is –
Will Importing my WordPress.com account again overwrite content on my WordPress.org? I have new blog posts that only appear on my new WordPress.org – will they be erased? And will duplicate content be overwritten (this is what I want).

When importing previous post content will be checked and existing content won’t be overwritten or duplicated.
