Importing content to WordPress site

Hello Everyone.
I really need help here! I have been making a website locally and now it needs to go on air. Then I decided to install WordPress 3.0 on the webserver and afterwards upload my theme. It works fine and I can see my site with my own theme.
Then I exported my database with all content etc. and imported it into the database for my site on the internet. When I run the site again, it wants my to install WordPress again and after doing that, nothing of my content is on the site – still the same default WordPress “Hello” Comment and no pages.
How do I get all that content I have been making on my own computer into the new site
Please if someone can help!
