importing from a wordpress.org site

Hello, I currently have a wordpress site I pay fore the domain for, but am not wanting to renew that domain and just use wordpress.com site I have. I exported the xml file on my domain but when importing to wordpress.com site it is giving me an error. Any suggestions? thank you.

Sorry about that! Would you please confirm the URL of the WordPress.com site you’re importing into, and quote the error you’re encountering?

The wordpress.com site is https://daveanddal.wordpress.com It says we have trouble reading your import file, and to make sure it is a valid xml file. I did do an export of just the posts which did work, but it didn’t import the embedded audio posts. I then imported the media but it still did not include the audio files. Thank you foe the assistance!

Hi @dallasstacy, it could be that your site needs to be able to support audio files in order for them to import properly. Only paid plans are allowed to add audio (paid plans help cover our costs and keep free sites free).
Do you want to try upgrading to see whether that solves the issue?
Another option is to host the audio files elsewhere, then just embed them here:

I see thank you. I can post the audio via my direct download link from Libsyn hosting services. However it doesn’t look like I am able to embed the audio player they provide. Is this something I would need to upgrade for? Thank you.

SoundCloud and Audiomack players are supported on the Free plan. It sounds like the player you are using may contain code that isn’t supported on your current plan. Would you be able to paste it here in code tags (there should be a button above the reply box here) so I can take a look?
