Importing from blogger 2nd time – not working, no error msg

  I imported my Blogger blog (www.kittymowmow.blogspot.com)to wordpress (www.kittymowmow.wordpress.com) but wasn’t ready to completely switch over until now. Between the first import and now, I have added posts to my blogger account. Now when I click “the magic button,” it says “Importing…” but nothing else happens – no files being imported, no error message, nothing. I have cleared my account several times and tried to start over, but it still won’t import the blog.

  This might be relevant – at one point I accidentally selected one of my other Blogger blogs to import, and it began importing immediately. I stopped it, cleared my account, and tried to import Kitty Mowmow again, but it still won’t work. The problem seems to be affecting only that blog.

  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  Ok – inspiration struck and I solved my problem in the following manner:

  1. Delete ALL posts that have been imported from blogger already. This effectually erases the entire blog.

  2. Clear account.

  3. Reauthorize WordPress to access my blog.

  4. Click the “magic button.”

  5. Bristle with anticipation.

  6. Watch as the posts FINALLY start importing.

  7. Celebrate as blood pressure decreases to normal levels.

  I have the same problem as you and I have followed through your instructions, but it doesn’t work. I have 94 posts in Blogger but only 41 posts can be imported. Although I deleted all and re-imported, the same number of posts were imported.

  Any suggestions? Thanks.

  Kitty – I am having the exact same problem. Are you saying you went through and deleted each post, one by one? Or is there a way to do a mass delete?

  What do you mean by “clear the account”?

  There is no way for bloggers to “mass delete” blog contents at wordpress.com.

  There’s no direct way to import single comments. The easiest way would be to log out of WordPress and copy the blogspot comment text and paste it into a new comment on your WordPress blog. If you’re logged out you should be able to use the same name as the commenter on blogspot, so it’ll look like the same comment.
