Importing from Blogger

  I’m in process of moving from Blogger to WP. I’ve imported my content, but comments are missing from a number of posts (although others are fine). I can see them on my blogger blog, but I don’t want to lose them. Can anyone help me please? I was using Disqus on Blogger, might that
  be the problem? Although that doesn’t explain why some comments came through and others didn’t. Thank you!!

  Yes that’s the exact problem and no they cannot be imported from Disqus.

  Thanks. But wouldn’t that mean none of my comments should have come through? Because many of them have, just not all. Thanks again.

  Interesting. Can you give us a link to one of your posts here and the corresponding post on Blogger where some of the comments came through and some didn’t? I’m wondering if there’s something in the code that will explain.

  Comments with pictures in them don’t come through, though. At WP.com only the blog owner can put pictures in comments.

  Apparently Disqus CAN create an export file. In that case it should be possible to import it the same way you imported your blog posts http://help.disqus.com/customer/portal/articles/1104797-importing-exporting

  Thank you. I have gone through Disqus instructions for exporting, and there is an ‘import from disqus’ plugin on wordpress.org but not wordpress.com (I don’t really understand the difference).

  Mine is a blog with wp.com so don’t have access to this plugin, well not from my research and I can’t find it. But am totally new to WordPress…!

  As long as you have an export file, staff can presumably merge it into your blog.

  You might prefer to do this yourself: install software from WordPress.ORG on your own computer. Then add the plugin. Then import the Blogspot blog into that. Check the comments. If they’re good, then make an export file from THAT blog, on the computer, and import that to your WP.com blog. It won’t make double posts.
