importing from blogger

  I have tried to import some of my newer posts from blogger (which means importing all of them) but it wouldn’t go. However I was able to download some older ones from a godaddy site I have. THat seems to be doing something. But I don’t want to MANUALLY-copy/paste-ones from blogger. How can I make this work?

  Have you get a chance to looking the import from blogger’s guide? The link to the guide is: https://en.support.wordpress.com/coming-from-blogger/

  It provide you with very good information on how to export from blogger and import into WordPress.com

  Hi there,

  What exactly is going wrong when you try to import? I can see a successful blogger import on your site about an hour after you created this thread, followed by a large number of posts being deleted. Do you still need help with this?

  I followed the directions as outlined in the guide.
  And wordpress told me it uploaded my file-however it never did or I got the error-but none of my posts were there.

  Luckily, after a couple hours I remember having this problem in the past: a good troubleshooting thing to add to the guide would be:
  #1: Export your blogger site using the guide: https://en.support.wordpress.com/coming-from-blogger/
  #2: Go back into Blogger set-up and strip down your Blogger site-clear it of widgets, etc and then choose a simple/basic blogger theme
  #3 Re-export using the guide: https://en.support.wordpress.com/coming-from-blogger/ (you should now have 2 exported Blogger XML files)
  #4 Upload latest one to WordPress-using the guide
  #5 When everything has come through and looks good on WordPress—go back to Blogger and upload your first XML file (if you want your blog to look like it did originally-be able to reference your widgets etc…from the backend)

  You shouldn’t need to strip your blogger site in that way, as widgets aren’t exported. Only post content is. Widgets are only exported if you export the full site from Blogger instead of a content backup.

  Either way, glad to hear you got it working.
