Importing from Blogger – Domains

Still in preliminary stages of shifting over. A previous question of mine directed me to https://wordpress.com/support/import/coming-from-blogger/
My question here refers to the section “

,” and domain mapping. Previous blogger blog used a free blogger domain. For now I plan to do the same in WordPress. The above mentioned help section makes no mention of free blogger domains, and presumes you are using a custom domain name (other than a blogger one).
What, if any, of the 3 steps mentioned within this section will I be required to do?

Hi there thegreenlama, if you were using a free blogspot domain, you won’t be able to use that same domain here.
But you can use a free WordPress.com address. So you can just skip the part about connecting your old domain.
Regarding sending folks from the old site to the new one, I tried to find tips for redirecting on Blogger. I’m not sure whether this will suit your needs, but you can give it a go:
