Importing from livejournal

  Hello! I am trying to import my work from an old livejournal account but it is telling me to check my username and password and try again. I have checked my username and password a dozen times. Is there some problem with the importer or has something weird happened with my login information?

  Hi there,

  The LiveJournal importer no longer works. LiveJournal made a change to their API over a year ago that broke remote authentication not only for WordPress.com, but for several other services. We tried working with them to get it fixed at the time, but their support was not very helpful.

  Another WordPress.com user came up with their own way to import the posts, that uses the .xml export file from LiveJournal and converts it to work with the WordPress.com importer. If you want to try that (at your own risk), you can find more information here:

  But otherwise there is no way to import a site from LiveJournal to WordPress.com any more.

  @kokkieh,
  Then the support page on
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/import/ should be amended to exclude LiveJournal.
