Importing from Posterous seems to try to get things from the Posterous site
-
The Posterous import described in the introduction and in the support is not what I got. I was not asked for the xml file of the export from posterous, but for my log in credentials to Posterous (which, of course does not exist any more).
How can I provide the export file (or the xml file as indicated in the tools section) so my old blog is imported from my hard drive? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The Posterous importer was removed. Please see what Staff posted here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/posterous-is-not-on-the-menu-on-tools-import?replies=16#post-1735112

I’m going to need to look into this further for you. We had disabled the importer but reactivated it when we realized there were still some users who needed it. I’m not sure why we don’t have the xml importer working now.

Thank you very much. It has started. . . Or at least it has allowed me to choose the xml file.
I’ll comment again when it is done.Cheers,
Manuel.

Well, that seems to be it.
Now I have 29 posts (I know, not much to bargain about) already there.
As indicated, pictures will not be there, but can be added.
I’ll slowly go through them and add the images to those that really require one.Thank you very much. All done.
I’m going to go bold and change this to “resolved” …and hope to not be stepping in any toes.

Yes, unfortunately with Posterous imports it’s not a perfect transition, but we’re glad we can offer you at least a partial solution.
