Importing from tumblr

  Want to import decolonisefest.tumblr.com to this wordpress blog but when i try the import tool, it lists our old custom domain ‘decolonise.org.uk’ which we have already temporarily disabled in tumblr to make the import work

  Correct account: Yes

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to moderators and staff)

  Hello there,

  You may want to double make sure that this domain is not connected to Tumblr so that decolonisefest.tumblr.com is the primary domain.

  I’ve removed this site from WordPress.com, so may I ask you to reattempt that import via: https://decolonisefest.wordpress.com/wp-admin/admin.php?import=tumblr please.

  We are still having this issue. This domain is currently not connected to tumblr.

  The problem is that wordpress isn’t giving me the option to enter a new domain in the importer, so I’m unable to enter the tumblr domain because it looks like the custom domain is hardcoded into the wordpress importer without giving the option to edit it.

  When I first tried to import, I got a screen that had a text field that allowed me to enter the domain to import, but that screen no longer appears.

  It looks like this is a common issue on WordPress and has been resolved by WordPress support in the past.

  Basically, I need the importer to allow me to enter the domain name like it did initially via a text field

  Thanks so much! That solved the initial issue but now there are 2 new issues:

  1. The navigation hasn’t imported

  2. None of the pages aside from the homepage have imported

  3. Some photos aren’t showing up but they are links to instagram so I’m assuming that’s the reason why?

  Should I create a new ticket for this or can it remain on this one? Thanks again!

  1. We don’t import navigation, so you’ll need to build those out: https://wordpress.com/support/menus/

  2. Similarly, we can’t import pages, but you can copy/paste the content: https://wordpress.com/support/pages/

  3. And, somewhat likewise with the Instagram content. It’s not actually a photo, but an embed from Instagram, and our embeds operate a bit differently: https://wordpress.com/support/instagram/#instagram-embeds
