Importing from WordPress gives Duplicates

  I have two blogs running on WordPress 2.6 that are basically the same.
  http://thetechlink.net
  http://thetechlink.wordpress.com

  I update the first one and then export the posts with the built-in export feature in WordPress and head on to my other blog where I will import the posts.

  WordPress sould skip all the posts that already exist but it doesn’t do it for all the posts. It then creates duplicates.

  I have found that all the duplicate posts have either the ” character or the ‘ character in the post title so that might be the problem.

  Can someone look into this please?

  You should probably send this to support since volunteers in the forums don’t have any access to that stuff.

  To clarify, only one of those blogs is running WordPress 2.6. The other is running WordPress.com software, which is a special modification of the WP Multi-User platform. That doesn’t solve your problem, though; as Vivian said, the best way to resolve this is to contact staff via your WP.com dashboard.
