Importing galleries to new blog
-
Hi,
I have just tried exporting my blog from robpacker.wordpress.com to nomadicpermanence.wordpress.com
The process has gone fine except for one thing: the galleries that I had on the old site haven’t been imported. Is there any way for these to be imported in bulk?
Blog url: http://robpacker.wordpress.com/ -

I can’t find the checkbox either way. The photos that weren’t in galleries were included though.
-
Could it be because the file I downloaded was only for Posts? I kept getting an error message with the All Content file, maybe because I don’t have any Feedbacks.

Hmm, that shouldn’t be the case.

After you upload the export file, you can choose the option to Download & import file attachments to move your media files.
For more details, please see Moving Between WordPress.com Blogs.

I deleted everything and tried again. I don’t get the option to Download & Import file attachments.
What I see is:
Download Media
If you exported your site’s media files, we’ll import those for you automatically. -
Two questions:
1. Can you give me an example of a page that should have a gallery on it?
2. Would you mind if I emptied your blog and tried the import again?

Hi,
1. Try A Day in the Country from March 4 (http://robpacker.wordpress.com/2012/03/04/a-day-in-the-country/)
2. Sure. Go ahead! I did try to empty it and re-import but it didn’t work.

The gallery seems to be appearing just fine at http://robpacker.wordpress.com/2012/03/04/a-day-in-the-country/
Are you still having trouble?

Hi,
That’s the original blog. The new blog (nomadicpermanence.wordpress.com) doesn’t have any blogs at present: I deleted the ones that I imported. -
Ah, ok. Would you please try the import again, then give us links to posts that should have galleries on the original vs. posts that don’t on the imported blog?
