Importing Hubspot Blog

  Hey WP Forum,

  I want to move our hubspot hosted blog to WP, and we have the hubspot blog exported in html and csv format. From what I understand there is no WP importer for hubspot.

  Do anyone have any tips on the best way to go about this? Any working plugins to use?

  Hi @fnezblog, one way is to import into a another type of blog that can be exported as XML, then import that:
  https://wordpress.com/support/import/#import-content-from-another-platform

  Or, there are plugins for importing CSV to WordPress, though I haven’t used them myself.

  How large is the site, curiously? And how big is the CSV file?

  Thanks for your comment.

  I haven’t found a way to import it to another blog and then export it again as an XML file.

  I am not sure how big the actual blog is but the csv file is 963 kb.

  Any other suggestions?

  Ah okay that’s not too big. Well, I can’t promise I’d be successful, but if you’ll upload the file and send a link, I’ll look at it to see if there’s a simple conversion so it can be imported. Also, please let me know which site you’re importing into.

  Hi there,

  I was able to convert your CSV file to an import on one of my test sites and extract 183 blog posts (with images) which is a good sign since there were 183 rows in your CSV file.

  I have moved that content to fnezblog.wordpress.com so you should now see it all listed here: https://wordpress.com/posts/fnezblog.wordpress.com

  Please note that I see a few posts on your WordPress.com site that I do not see on the Hubspot site at : https://blog.freeandeasytraveler.com/

  Specifically see a few posts that appear to be published today, but they appear to be test posts. My guess here is that these were “drafts” on Hubspot, but in the import process were added as published posts. I recommend checking these and unpublishing if needed.

  Also importing from Hubspot is an imperfect process (they don’t provide a clean import intended for WordPress) so please be sure to spot check the posts on fnezblog.wordpress.com for any issues before you spin down the Hubspot site.
