importing images from Weblog
-
Hi Brandon,
that’s probably because you are logged in to WordPress anyway. I checked with a friend’s tablet and he can’t see the images either.
And only when you click on one you get the message that you have to be logged in to WordPress or be a member of the blog to be able to see the images… any way to solve this?thanks! Gerard

Can you send me a link to a specific post or page where that’s happening? I’m viewing your home page logged out, but nothing jumps out to me there.
My first thought is you’re adding an image that was uploaded to a WordPress site that is private, but I’d like to double-check that.
Thanks!

Yes Brandon, the private-setting of the two back-up blogs in which the repaired files were imported by you caused the problem. After changing the setting all images I have so far copied to the main site are now visible. Does this mean I will have to keep the back-up blogs online? I meant to delete those again after I finished copying all content to the main site but now I’m afraid if I do this, the images will disappear again there…?

Hi,
Apologies for the delay. With importing the posts, as mentioned earlier, there’s an option to import the media (images) as well. With copy/pasting, you would need to re-upload the images to the new site, if you’re planning on deleting the older blog.
One option to avoid too much work at this point is to delete all of the posts on the older blogs, but not deleting anything from the Media library. The site will appear blank, but the images will still be accessible to your new site.
Cheers!

Hi Brandon,
I understand it’s not possible to copy the media-libraries from one site to another. In that case your proposed solution would seem the best.
thanks again!
Gerard
