Importing is not working correctly?

I’m trying to transition my blog from wordpress.org back to wordpress.com.
I used the export/import tool. When importing it back to my wordpress.com site, only 56 posts imported over. I have 193 posts on my wordpress.org site.
Help please!

Could you tell me if there’s a window of posts missing from your import? A specific span of dates?
Also, were any of these posts originally from your WordPress.com site, before they were moved to WordPress.org? If so, re-importing them into WordPress.com won’t work as they’re duplicates. They are automatically dismissed by our system.
If you could, please attempt the export of all content from WordPress.org again, then reimport it into WordPress.com. Let me know about the success/failure of the load, and I can take a look at the files.

I figured that maybe that was what was happening. So I deleted all the posts, pages, tags, media, etc. from my wordpress.com site. I then tried to re-import the files. The second time it imported 76 but I found the rest in the trash?? I restored them from the trash but now the media won’t match back up to the posts.

Are all your posts now visible on your site, whether the images are working properly, or not? I just need to know if I should be looking further into missing posts.
I see the images missing from this post:
http://sisterbakers.wordpress.com/2013/03/29/homemade-coconut-yogurt/Can you please go to your Media Library and do a search for IMG_2537. It should appear as if it’s Unattached in the “Uploaded to” column. Click Attach. Scroll down until you see the Coconut Yogurt post. Click on that post, then click the Select button.
Revisit your post and let me know if that reattached the image. If so, you can do the same for the remainder of the post.

I tried that and the image reappears as a featured image (thumbnail) but not in the post itself.

Basically, all the posts I recuperated from the trash have missing media and attaching the media to the posts is not working for the post itself. Aside from reattaching everything manually, which is A LOT of work, is there another way to fix this?

It is worth a try to have me run the import for you. I can, at the very least, look at the exported file and see if there are any problems with it.
