Importing issues

Hi, I’m trying to import my old xanga archived blog into my new wordpress blog. I’ve followed all the instructions, unzipped the files, and I have gotten multiple emails stating that the entrees have been successfully uploaded. However, they’re nowhere to be found. They’re not in posts, not in pages. I’ve tried multiple times with no different results. I’m unsure of what I am doing wrong. Please help!

Hi there,
Can you please try importing using the WordPress importer instead of the Xanga importer? Also make sure you import the files in numerical order as they appear in the .zip folder you received from Xanga.

I have tried this and it is not working either. The importer starts and takes about 15-20 mins. It then says that it has completed and says to click posts or pages to view the content. I go to both and there is nothing there. I have verified that I am attempting to import in the correct order as well.

Hmm. I’ve checked the files showing in your site’s logs, and they don’t appear to actually contain any content. Can you please check the file size of those files that are on your computer? They should at the very least be a few hundred kb big. If the file size is smaller than that, it means the files are essentially empty, in which case you need to try exporting it from Xanga again.
If the files appear okay on your end, please upload the .zip folder you got from Xanga to Google Drive or Dropbox, and reply with a sharing link so I can download it. Then I can check if there is perhaps something else wrong with the files.
