Importing Media Issues
-
I exported all my files from a previous WordPress.com site and imported to my new one (wordpress.com) and everything worked but the media files. I can’t figure out how to fix this.
Can someone help?

Hi there, Looking at this post countrymeetcityblog.wordpress.com/2017/03/10/de%C2%B7noue%C2%B7ment it looks like some of those images are trying to be pulled in from other sources (FB). But the image that should be showing up from the Media Library is a 404, so I’ve tagged this for Staff assistance.

Also, do you have your new site set up to have the Posts page as the front page of your site? Right now when I access the above link at countrymeetcityblog.wordpress.com I’m met with an “Oops” message, but I see there are blog posts there.

Hi there,
Did you import to countrymeetcityblog.wordpress.com? From which site did you export? Is that site still online?
If the site you exported from is no longer online, or if it’s set to private and belongs to a different username account, that means it’s not possible for us to fetch the images from that site to import them. The export file doesn’t contain any images. It only contains instructions that tells the importer where it can fetch those images, but that requires the source site to be online and publicly accessible.
it looks like some of those images are trying to be pulled in from other sources (FB)
The FB “images” are the emoji that are appearing in the post.
