Importing one blog into another, moving current posts onto new page
-
Hi, I’m trying to import one of my blogs into my existing blog as a new page in that blog, I’ve followed the steps to export then import the blog, but when I get the email saying import has been successful, nothing happens. I can’t find the old content anywhere.
Additionally I want to move some existing posts on my blog onto a new page, Several of my posts are reviews and I want them to have their own page so they’re easier to find.
Thanks for your help
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The imported posts go in the new blog in the order they were originally posted, so if they’re old, they’ll be way back in your archives. That’s the only suggestion I have without more information, eg what post titles are missing, how big is the import file, etc.
For the separate page for reviews, just make sure they’re all categorized “Reviews” and use a custom menu linking to http://mimsmusings.wordpress.com/category/reviews

Thanks for your reply, none of the old posts are back in my archives. I’m trying to import all of the posts from this blog: http://mimscraftymusings.wordpress.com to my blog http://mimsmusings.wordpress.com as a separate page labelled “craft”.
I understand that a custom menu would work but is there any way to have another page- like the home or ‘hire me’ page, labelled “reviews” with them on there?

Yes, you could manually copy/paste all the Reviews into one single page, but it would be nearly ungoogleable compared to individual Posts on a category page.
How big is the export file from mimscraftymusings?

126 KB.
How do I create a new category page? Forgive my ignorance but I’m just about getting to grips with the basics =)
