Importing posts and comments to wordpress from ablog.ro, i need a bit of help!

    Hello,
    I created a blog on wordpress.com and i want to import my past posts and comments from my blog from ablog.ro. On that blog they told me to copy the ablog.php on my server in the /wp-admin/import/ server, and then on the WordPress dashboard from Manage >>Import the option to import from ablog.ro will appear. And then upload my ablog.ro back-up .xml file.

    But i can’t seem to manage to copy the ablog.php on my server so that, that “import from ablog.ro” option to appear. Please,can you tell me how to do that? Or an advice or something?

    I’ve not used ablog.ro so I’m not sure of the procedure. But if it’s an .xml file, it shouldn’t be that different from importing LiveJournal, which definitely works with WP. But you’re mentioning the wp-admin directory – we don’t have that kind of access here, that only comes with the .org software. Are you sure you’re hosted with WP.com?

    If you are, then what you want to do is to save the file to your desktop from whatever export feature ablog.ro uses; you’ll then upload that file to WP. If you find you’re still having trouble, try saving your blog feed; you might be able to import that into WP. Or trying importing to another blog host, and then from there in to WP.

    Actually they say something like Import to WordPress (2.1.3) , so .. i guess they mean wordpress.org right?

    I already tried to upload the .xml file using the LiveJournal option, but after i click submit a page with the message ” All Done Have fun!” appears but nothing changes, no posts, nu pictures, no comments, nothing.
    So that is why i don’t quite know what else to do. I’ll try the other options too, like importing to another blog host, and then from there in to WP.
