importing posts from wordpress.com to self-hosted wordpress.org

  The last year of blog posts did not import into wordpress.org site hosted by bluehost. The earlier posts did import. Even when I tried again, exporting posts from that timeframe specifically, they did not import

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi Karen,

  Sorry to hear about your issues importing your posts. Did you get any error messages when the import failed?

  One thing you could try is to break your export file into smaller files, perhaps two months’ worth of posts per export file, and see if the files being smaller will help the import process. It may be that the all the posts for the whole year in one import file is just too big to import in one go.

  Seeing it is a WordPress.org site you are importing into you could also ask for help in the WordPress.org support forums, there may be someone there who recognizes the issue.

  Thanks – I was able to import them when I broke them up into data ranges the second time.
